Here are 3 easy ideas for holiday crafts you can do in your classroom this year!

3 Easy Holiday Crafts To Use As Parent Gifts

The holidays can be a stressful time of year in the classroom! The children are excited and only half listening. There are a million things to do and wrap up before winter break. On top of all that, you want to make holiday crafts for parent gifts. Today, I'm sharing 3 easy holiday crafts for the classroom that you can send home to families.

Snow Globe Ornament Holiday Crafts for Parent Gifts

What parent doesn't love an ornament keepsake? These are super easy to make. You probably have everything you need right in your classroom!

What you'll need:

  • Construction Paper (dark blue, light blue, and black)
  • Scissors
  • Glitter
  • Glue
  • String
  • Individual Pictures of Each Student

How to make it:

Depending on what grade level you are doing this with, you will need to decide which steps will be for the teacher and which students will do.

Cut the dark blue or light blue construction papers into circles. Next, cut the black construction paper into a trapezoid to make it look like the base of a snow globe. Lastly, cut each student's picture to fit inside the “snow globe”. Glue the black trapezoid to the light blue circle. Flip it over and glue the picture to the blue paper.

Invite students to put glue dots around their picture and sprinkle glitter. I let students choose the color of the glitter. This set comes with so many color options! Then, using a Sharpie or a paint marker, have them write the year on the base of the snow globe.

Then, I make a hole in the top and add the ribbon to make it an ornament. If you would like to laminate these, which I have done in the past, laminate them before you add the hole and ribbon!

Love Never Melts Handprint Holiday Crafts for Parent Gifts

This is a keepsake parents will cherish forever. However, it does take a little more time as it involves layers of paint, so make sure to get a head start with this!

What you'll need:

  • Canvases (I purchased mine on Amazon)
  • Blue and White Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Paint Markers
  • Sharpies

How to make it:

Just like the one above, depending on your student's age and skill level will determine how many steps they will do on their own.

Start by having your students paint the canvas blue. I use an 8×8-inch canvas. Here are the ones that I purchase every year for this project. Once dry, you will have them add their handprint to the canvas with white paint. After that, I used a paint marker to write “Love Never Melts,” their name, and the year on the canvas. I invite students to use Sharpie markers to add a hat, eyes, nose, scarf, and buttons to their snowmen.

Holiday Light Fingerprints Holiday Crafts for Parent Gifts

This is by far the easiest one to make. And the one I end up making year after year because it takes the shortest time!

What you'll need:

  • Free Template
  • Ink pads
  • Markers

How to make it:

Print this free template (I like to print on cardstock) and make enough copies for each student in your class. Have students use their fingers to create the holiday lights. I like to offer a multicolored ink pad so the lights will resemble real holiday lights.

Then, students will write “Your” at the top of the paper and “lights up my life” at the bottom. I have my students write this in pencil first. After they get it checked by me, they have the go-ahead to trace their letters in marker. They add their name and the year, and they're done!

If you want to make it last longer, run it through a laminator!

I hope these Holiday Crafts help you this season as you search for a classroom gift for parents! If you create any of these this season, please share them with me! I'd love to see it! You can tag me on Instagram @kraftyinkinder
